Holiday Park with Cold Water Swimming Pool
Winter? No worries for these cold-water swimmers at Shrewsbury park’s natural bio pool. The health and wellbeing benefits of cold-water swimming are attracting up to 50 people a day to the multi-award winning Love2Stay, a holiday park with cold water swimming pool resort in Shrewsbury.
Owned by Salop Leisure, the resort has opened a natural outdoor swimming pool which proved a big hit with swimmers during this winter.
The chemical-free pool is open to local people as well as those staying at the luxury touring and glamping resort.
Cold Water Swimming Health Benefits
Cold water swimming is claimed to reduce stress, improve mental health, fitness, metabolism and circulation, and boost self-esteem and immunity.
Its benefits, which are also said to leave swimmers with radiant skin, have been popularised in the UK by Dutchman Wim Hof, known as the Iceman.
The pool at Love2Stay is manufactured by Biotop which was founded 40 years and has built over 9,000 pools operated without the use of any chemicals.
A quarter of these pools are Living Pools – bio-pools that look like conventional swimming pools, but otherwise have nothing in common with the traditional chlorinated pool.
Salop Leisure’s joint MD Mark Bebb said: “Cold water swimming is known for improving mental wellbeing, benefitting menopausal women, reducing chronic inflammation and helps to control breathing.
