Award-winning independent holiday parks group Coastdale is taking glamping up to a new level – quite literally in the case of one new pod with innovative two-tier sleeping accommodation. Coastdale has just completed a major investment in glamping facilities at its three seaside parks near Whitby in North Yorkshire, Porthmadog in North Wales, and Hayle in Cornwall creating three of the best glamping pod holiday parks.

According to Peter Brewer, his family-owned business is seeing a “massive swing” in favour holidays which offer new experiences, especially among younger families.

Glamping, he says, provides just the sort of happy holiday memories which people are looking for – with the more highly specified accommodation being most popular.

A quality quest to deliver glamping pod perfection

Coastdale, which was founded almost 50 years ago, has selected top-end models from a range of UK pod manufacturers to spearhead his investment.

They include the Platinum S-Pod from Swift Holiday Homes which sleeps four people and features a mezzanine upper floor, vaulted ceiling and a decked patio for al-fresco dining.

All of the new pods, says Peter, have private hot tubs for use by guests, and are fully equipped and furnished with bathrooms, central heating and beds made up with hotel quality linen.

They have now been sited at the company’s cliff-top Whitby Holiday Park, Garreg Goch Caravan Park near Black Rock Sands, and Atlantic Coast Holiday Park in St Ives Bay.

The three parks also provide other staying options including touring pitches and holiday home sales, and Peter believes that Coastdale can now offer an unrivalled array of pod experiences:

“When our parks first started to provide pod accommodation the models were much more basic in design, and appealed to people who enjoyed camping but not having to put up a tent.

“Despite this, we noticed that pods often became the first to be booked up each year, and we fully supported the efforts by manufacturers to introduce new layers of luxury.

“What we can offer now is a first-class pampering experience, and have complemented this with features such as hot tubs and superb park environments in which to enjoy a stay,” said Peter.

Coastdale’s three parks have all won quality gradings from VisitEngland, and have gained a raft of glowing comments from guests on national review websites.

The parks have also been praised for their successful efforts to help protect the natural world, and have previously gained top gold accolades from the David Bellamy Conservation Award scheme.
