Debbie Walker Named on Women in Trade Associations Powerlist

BH&HPA Director General Debbie Walker

BH&HPA Director General honoured in leadership list. Debbie Walker, Director General of the British Holiday & Home Parks Association (BH&HPA), has been named as one of the most influential female business champions in the UK. Debbie has been included on the Women in Trade Associations Powerlist, compiled by the Trade Association Forum (TAF) and released this March to coincide with International Women’s Day.

The Women in Trade Associations Powerlist, published annually for the past three years, was drawn up by the TAF in conjunction with the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB).

Its purpose is to champion the role of women in trade bodies, to celebrate their achievements, and to encourage the next generation of women into the sector.

Debbie joined BH&HPA as Director General almost 18 months ago, having previously worked in a senior management role for the British Property Federation (BPF).

Based now at the association’s central office in Gloucester, Debbie provides leadership to the body representing around 3,000 holiday and residential parks in the UK.

She was among others voted on to the Women in Trade Associations Powerlist who attended a special celebration in March in London to honour their contributions.

“I feel both humbled and privileged to be regarded as an ambassador for women who are helping to shape the future of professional holiday park trade associations such as BH&HPA,” said Debbie.

“The TAF does a brilliant job of bringing together more than 180 trade associations, and sharing best practice in our dealings with the government and our members.

“But I also recognise that roles such as mine are wholly dependent on the dedication and hard work of the teams we lead. Their vital contributions also need to be applauded,” added Debbie.
