Dorset campsite named AA Campsite of The Year 2015
Dorset’s South Lytchett Manor has been named by the AA as the best caravan and campsite in the UK, earning it the overall title of the AA Campsite of The Year 2015.
The family-run business, near to Poole and Bournemouth, beat more than 900 other camping parks across Britain to take the prestigious pole place.
The accolade is awarded every year following a rigorous assessment by AA inspectors of parks’ standards of customer care, quality, and cleanliness.
Also under scrutiny are the range of amenities on offer, the size and layout of the pitches, and the quality of park grounds and their landscaping.

The South Lytchett Manor AA inspection report earned an impressive five pennants – the maximum possible – and a 96% approval rating.
Highlighted were some of the site’s recent improvements including the introduction of additional fully-serviced pitches which now brings the total of these up to 85.
In addition, the report headlined South Lytchette’s new cycle hire facility with new top quality bikes for all ages, and that fact that free Wi-Fi now extends across the entire grounds.
There was mention too of the park’s attractive new website and video, and its stunning new hand-painted Romany caravan for hire, soon to be joined by others.

An AA spokesperson said: “South Lytchett continues to get better each year, and has now become one of that very select group of top parks in the country which has achieved our highest rating.
“It is very much a family-run operation, and David, Joanne, and Matthew Bridgen and their dedicated team have developed the park to its current superb standard.
“All facilities are well thought out, modern, and spotlessly clean, and pitches are spacious and varied with many being fully serviced.
“Their ethos is very much “the customer is king”, and everyone connected with the park goes out of their way to ensure that guests are properly looked after from arrival to departure.
