Lodge holidays lead Park Holidays UK development plans
Families especially are choosing lodge holidays as their ideal family escape says Park Holidays UK. Luxury lodges are now at the forefront of new holiday home ownership developments being rolled out by Park Holidays UK at more than half of its 25 Southern England parks.
Although the company says it has no intention of marginalising holiday caravans in the future, the move underlines the fast-rising popularity of lodge holidays as leisure preferences.
Demand, states Park Holidays UK, has accompanied the group’s policy of extending the holiday season on its parks, many of which are now open for up to 11.5 months of the year.
Pure comfort for your lodge holidays
The high standards of insulation and heating in holiday lodge properties, it says, mean that owners can take holidays throughout the four seasons in assured comfort.
In addition, the generous size of lodges – up to 40% larger than most caravan holiday homes – means families enjoy a domestic environment more closely akin to their permanent home.
This year, Park Holidays UK says it plans new holiday home developments on 15 of its top-rated coastal holiday parks in Devon, Kent, Sussex and Suffolk.
The majority of these will comprise two and three bedroom lodges starting in price from around £79,000 and including all furnishings as well as integrated kitchen appliances.
Park Holidays UK says it also incorporates outside decking or verandas in the cost as these are now regarded by buyers as “must have” complements to the holiday lodge lifestyle.
Holiday Lodge Special Appeal
Group director Tony Clish says the light, airy and spacious interiors of lodges – and their architect-inspired exteriors – have a special appeal to younger design-conscious buyers:
“The contemporary style of holiday lodges provides the all-important sense of freedom which hard-working people look for when want an escape from day-to-day stresses,” said Tony.
“People who might once have considered buying a holiday cottage believe that a lodge provides much better value, and is a far better fit to the dynamics of young family life.
“Our lodges are generally bigger and in a much greener setting than most cottages, and of course there’s no worry about costly repair bills or having to spend weekends grass cutting.
The future is lodge shaped
“While caravan holidays homes will always remain popular, and can be a very affordable start to holiday home ownership, our view is that the future is definitely lodge shaped!” said Tony.
For buyers with children, he added, the popular seaside locations of the group’s parks are an obvious bonus – as are the inclusive attractions available just a short walk from their lodge.
These can include swimming pools, spas, children’s clubs and sports facilities – plus the free all-day and nightly entertainment programmes for which Park Holidays UK is renowned.
