Opening time for Wales park’s £1m expansion

Tree Tops Caravan Park in Gwespyr, near Holywell in Flintshire, has undergone a major expansion with a new development of luxury holiday homes.

The £1 million development, named Parc Ynys Hir, was officially opened this summer by Delyn’s MP David Hanson and AM Hannah Blythyn.

The expansion sees the park, which provides both caravan holiday homes and holiday lodges, grow from 23 acres to 30 acres.

Director Andrew Walker, who runs the park alongside parents Maureen and Harry, said: “The opening of Parc Ynys Hir marks a significant step in Tree Tops’ history.

“The expansion will also provide a major boost to the local economy, bringing more people into this area of North Wales.

“It has been amazing to see Parc Ynys Hir come together, and we are delighted to see it open.”

The development, named after its views of Hilbre Island, took nine months to complete. Open days have also been held to showcase the park to prospective caravan and lodge owners.

MP David Hanson said: “Parc Ynys Hir represents a major investment both for Tree Tops and for Flintshire’s tourism economy.

“I was delighted to see how the park has grown and to officially open the expansion,” added Mr Hanson.
