Castlerigg Hall Caravan & Camping Park occupies one of the finest positions in the north of England overlooking Derwentwater with breathtaking views of the surrounding fells. Our west facing location above Keswick provides the opportunity to relax and enjoy dramatic sunsets from your pitch. Touring caravan pitches are always on hard standing each with electric, water and drainage point. The tent field is separate to the tourers with its own facility block. Caravans are available for hire, all rooms are heated and most with balcony.
Facilities include shop, gallery, laundrette, accessible shower/toilet, bathroom, telephone, gas exchange and tourist information centre at the reception.
We are situated in the countryside and like to encourage as much wildlife as possible. The site participates in the David Bellamy Conservation Award and we have achieved a gold award for continuing commitment for conservation and the environment.
Deer may frequently be seen from the caravan terraces along with badgers and red squirrels. We have several nesting boxes for birds and bats!
The site is home to two pet pot bellied pigs “Boris & Lulu†and we have given a new lease of life to several x-battery hens!
So come along to Castlerigg Hall and enjoy the countryside!
Situated in the heart of the English Lakes, a World Heritage Site with easy access to stunning walking country. Part of Castlerigg Hall has been providing glamping holidays since 1909, quite possibly the first permanent holiday camp in the country. Fast forward to 2025 and we now provide modern facilities with underfloor heating, shop and gallery. Close to the market town of Keswick and set in an elevated position overlooking Derwentwater, Castlerigg Hall provides the perfect base to explore the Lake District.
1.5 miles SE of Keswick, right off the A591 we are the first campsite on the right.
