Nestling amongst 130 acres of mature woodland Skelwith Fold provides an excellent base from which to walk or visit the many attractions offered by the Lake District.
Only 1 ½ miles from the Market Town of Ambleside on the B5286 to Hawkshead with a bus stop outside the main gates, we are conveniently located for the local amenities. The Drunken Duck pub and Skelwith Bridge Hotel are approximately 1 mile from the parks back gate.
Facilities on the park include free toilet and shower facilities, water standpipes, chemical disposal points and laundry rooms. There is a well stocked, licensed shop and tourist information is available from reception. The large children’s adventure play ground is popular with youngsters and the meadow provides a place for older children to play ball games and use the all-weather table tennis table and volley ball net.
150 hard standing touring pitches and 300 privately owned Static Holiday Homes share the Park with deer, red squirrels, rabbits, badgers and numerous species of bird. As David Bellamy Gold Award winners for Conservation and founder members of the Corporate Friend of the Red Squirrel our Wildlife Club offers walks and talks to raise awareness and funds to support our conservation efforts.
