Park Holidays UK is urging anyone who enjoyed a great summer this year to help bring a smile to the face of a disadvantaged child – and it won’t them cost a penny.

All that’s needed is an online vote for a children’s charity in an award scheme being supported by Park Holidays UK in partnership with a major south coast radio station.

Once again his year, the 26-strong parks group has teamed up with broadcaster Wave 105 in its Cash for Kids Community Awards initiative.

With help from Park Holidays UK, last year’s awards raised over £17,000 to support youngsters throughout the region who are financially, socially, emotionally or physically disadvantaged.

Now the company is going all out to try and top that figure in 2016, and has launched awareness campaigns at three of its holiday parks in Southern England.

They are Lakeside Holiday Park in Chichester, West Sussex; Solent Breezes Holiday Park near Fareham in Hampshire, and Sandhills Holiday Park near Christchurch in Dorset.

Guests and their families at the parks are being asked to nominate their chosen children’s charity of the year, the category which Park Holidays UK is sponsoring.

But, says company director Tony Clish, it’s also hoped that anyone who had themselves a ball this summer will also take a couple of minutes to make a nomination.

The award will honour the children’s charity receiving the most votes, and which “works with integrity, is clear in its goals, and delivers outstanding results”.

“All of our parks have a long tradition of supporting various local good causes,” said Tony Clish.

“In this instance, we are also coming together as a group to help Wave 105 celebrate organisations and individuals who go the extra mile to helping disadvantaged children.

“Even though it costs nothing to vote for a favourite children’s charity, every nomination will help add impetus to the station’s fundraising efforts.

“Our message is simple: if this summer has brought pleasure to you and your loved ones, just visit the Wave voting website and help make a difference,” asks Tony.

Winners of the Cash for Kids Community Awards will be announced at a glittering celebrity-hosted ceremony on Friday 14 October at Bournemouth’s Hilton Hotel.
