Hendra Holiday Park near Newquay in Cornwall is celebrating after ending the 2016 season with news of yet another gold award.

At the beginning of this summer, the popular family seaside park received a gold award to add to its top five-pennant AA grading.

And as the summer drew to a close, Hendra heard that its five-star Visit England grading had also been crowned with a gold award.

Visit England’s gold awards are given in recognition of exceptional quality, and for outperforming a star rating.

VisitEngland’s assessors look at the quality provided in all areas of the business to see if they meet the highest standards for the star level achieved.

In all respects, Hendra was judged as outstanding.

hendra-holiday-park-41Jon Hyatt, Hendra director, said: “We believe there are only four holiday parks in Cornwall with both a gold five-star grading and a gold five-pennant rating.

“But ours is the only park with both touring pitches and a holiday caravan fleet, so we are delighted that we have been able to achieve both in the same year.

“There are only 36 gold award five-star parks in the UK, so it’s excellent recognition for the teams at Hendra who all work so hard to make the park the best it can be.

“We’ve had an excellent trading year with more guests than ever before, and a lot more local and non-resident visitors enjoying the facilities.

“We are constantly investing back into the park, and during the closed period this winter we will again be upgrading some of our caravan fleet and making further improvements to facilities,” said Jon.

Hendra accommodates an average of 4,000 guest a night in peak season, and is the largest park of its kind in the county.

The park has already achieved an impressive haul of awards and accolades for not just its holiday facilities but for its environmental and sustainable tourism commitment.
