“We’re buzzing again!” joyful Bamburgh holiday park tells MP
A top-rated Northumberland holiday park has told its local MP of the “delight and joy” shown by staff and customers now that the business is buzzing again.
Waren Caravan Park in Bamburgh welcomed Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP for a special visit as the final touches were being put to its re-opening in July.
Manager Darren Williams said the lockdown had been a very testing time, but that the park was now receiving an avalanche of bookings for this summer and beyond.
Ms Trevelyan, who is the MP for Berwick-upon-Tweed, was given a tour of the grounds and guest facilities where she was also able to meet members of the park team.
Covid-secure and ready for holiday guests
“We explained that staff had been working very hard behind the scenes in recent weeks to put in place a raft of social distancing and other safety measures,” said Mr Williams.
“Our aim is to give families not only the long-awaited holiday they need and deserve, but also the confidence that everything has been done to provide them with a worry-free stay.
“We said that our re-opening will also come as a great relief to the many small businesses in this area which rely on the income generated by our customers,” he added.
The five-star holiday park, with its picture-perfect views over Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle and the Cheviot Hills, attracts visitors from across the UK and from overseas.
It provides pitches for touring caravans, motorhomes and tents, plus glamping wigwams and holiday caravans to hire, as well as more than 250 holiday homes for private owners.
Anne-Marie Trevelyan heard how Waren Caravan Park had been a proud member of the select Meadowhead Parks group for almost 45 years.
Investing in the local environment
During that time, said Mr Williams, the park had benefited from continual investment to ensure first-class surroundings and a quality environment.
He said there were a number of Sites of Scientific Interest in the grounds, and that the park worked closely with Natural England to provide them with maximum protection.
Waren Caravan Park is also a long-time holder of the annual David Bellamy Conservation Award at its top gold level, thanks to its many initiatives to safeguard wildlife.
“We were very pleased that Anne-Marie was able to take time out and give us her best wishes as the park finally began returning to normal,” said Mr Williams.
